Legal contracts

During the trial on Thursday 1/7/10, the issue of legal contracts came up. A verbal contract is legally binding between two adults, however a verbal contract is not legally binding if a "minor" is involved in that verbal contract. How important do you believe this information is to the trial? Be sure to explain how and why it is important as well as include information from the story and the trial to support your answer.

  1. I think is not really important, because it dosen't really matter if the stranger is minor now. The stranger already die noe, it dosen;t matter if he will sell the spring now, because the land is still the Fosters.

  2. It is not important because who cares if the contract is between minors or not. The point of the case is that did Mae Tuck kidnapp Winnie and did Mae Tuck assault the stranger.

  3. i think that is not important that the stranger is minor cause it has nothing to do with the case the case is mostly about Mae tuck assault and kidnapped.

  4. I think it is not important becuase it doesn't matter if the stranger is minor or not. He didn't have proof that the woods belonged to him. Also it doesn't really matter because he is dead now. So the spring isn't his because in the book it said that if the stranger died than, the woods, including the spring, would go back to the Foster's.

  5. It is not that important. But i dose matter if the strange has proof that the woods with the spring it is is his or not. If it isnt his, Mae had assault for no reason. But if he has proof that it is his Mae have assaulted him for a reason.
Also i agree with juror 12. The main cass is if Mae Tuck have kidnapped Winnie Foster, and have assaulted the stranger. Even though since we read the book, some parts we were not in there, so we have to forget about that part so, it will be fair

  6. I think that the contract is not important. The contracts have not even been shown in this case. So for now there is no contract but there was an agreement between the stranger and Mr foster, but there has to be proof. This case is about Mae tuck crimes which are assault and kidnapp. The atranger has to proove that the woods is his and eh does not have prof so far in the case and he died so it does not matter anyway. So I think that the it is not important that the stranger is minor. Also I agree with juror 14 because the case is about Mae tuck crimes.

  7. I think that this is an important information because if there was no contract the stranger was a minor then he wouldn't have the right to say that the land was his and then all of this mess wouldn't have happened.

  8. The Information isnt important to what it is in the trial(or story) because the Stranger died after the agreement and after the assault.

  9. I think it is important, because the stranger is a minor because, he doesn't have legal contract, because he doesn't any forms, but it's still a contract, because the Fosters all ready agreed and that'S why is important (minor.)Plus I agree with juror 24, because he/she got the same idea as me.

  10. It is important because to know if the stranger had any proof in words that he had wanted the land. The prosecution side keeps on saying "where is the proof". It was spoken in words.

  11. Even if the stranger was still alive I would think it is important because the Fosters own a huge part of land that even included their house. I also disagree with Juror#13 because what if the stranger didn't die. This would not have happened.

  12. I don't think it is important because what if the stranger is lying? Maybe he was just doing that to threaten the Tucks. Mae Tuck didn't confirm with Mrs. Foster to see if the land was really given to the stranger.

  13. It is important because the land it the reason why we are in court. The land mean a lot to the stranger and the Tucks.

  14. I think it is important because even though he doesnt have any proof it was said verbally and its still a contract. Also if the fosters didnt make the contract the mock trail would not have happened.Thats why its very important.

  15. I think the contract is important because if Mae did not know about the contract what was the point of killing him.

  16. I think it is not important because in the book the stanger and the Fosters made a contract.

  17. this is important because without the contract who knows if this was all made up we need a contract for everyday life to own land and etc. i agree with juror # 8 what was the point of killing the stranger was it for fun we know its not but i gave my opinion stating that there must be a contract or at least a verbal contract stating that the land was the strangers
