Physical threat?
In the last few days of trial we have heard Mr. Tuck repeatedly say that Winnie was "physically threatened" by the stranger. From this testimony can you infer then that Mae Tuck was justified in her assault on the stranger? Why or why not? Be sure to include supporting evidence from the trial and story.

No because the Tucks were not being hit or killed by the stranger
ReplyDeleteNo because the just because Winnie was hit doesn't mean that the Tucks were hit. Winnie had no connection with them other then knowing the Tucks and that proves that Winnie isn't apart of the family so Mrs.Tuck can't really hit the stranger because he was also asked to bring Winnie back anyway so if Winnie refused then he had to do whatever was neccesary to bring Winnie back home.
ReplyDeleteI agree with juror 17 and I think is no because Mae Tuck didn't really have a special reason to assault the stranger and even though Mae Tuck said she is trying to protect Winnie, she didn'y really have a connection with Winnie expect they are friends.
ReplyDeleteI argee with juror 13 because Mae Tuck didn't have a good enough reason to assault the stranger.Even though in the testimony, Mr.Tuck said that they were protecting Winnie, they could've stopped the stranger or chase after him. He won't hurt the Tuck's because he had no weapon or anything to really hurt them.
ReplyDeleteNo, because, when they ask Mae Tuck," if the stranger had show any physically threatened her or her family" and she had answer no.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with juror21 because how do you know he said something to her what Mr.Tuck didn't see.Maybe the stranger or Winnie is hiding something.
ReplyDeleteI agree with juror 13 because Mae's relationship with winnie is not that big because they just met a few days ago so I think Mae was being over protective on winnie and she was out of control so she hit the stranger and the cause of that he died. In our mocktrial he kept saying wiinie was physically threatened. I think that is why Mae tuck assaulted the stranger so winnie was safe.

ReplyDeleteThe stranger didnt show any physically threatened the Tuck family like the answer that Mae Tuck had answered. Winnie is not part of there family, Either way Winnie will soon have to go home, The Tucks can not keep her any longer. The stranger didnt have any weapon to hurt them.
....maybe the stranger wanted to be rich so he'll trade Winnie for the land so he can sell the water then he be rich. He forced Winnie to come and phisically threathened her for money.
ReplyDeleteYes, because if the stranger physically threatened Winnie that means most likely he was physically threatening Mae Tuck and Mae Tuck was maybe trying to defend herself.
ReplyDeleteI say no because they have no proof of him dragging her,and how did he drag her if they were discussing about the water.how did he get into the Tuck's house, and without them stopping them.
ReplyDeleteI say no because they the tucks have no proof that the stranger was threating Winnie. Also the defense does'nt know that maybe the stranger might have given Winnie back. You just never know.I think that Mae Tuck may have hit the stranger on purpose.
ReplyDeletei agree with jury 8 , the lawyers still dont have evidence about dragging her.
ReplyDeleteyes because that gives Mae Tuck the reason to assault the stranger. There is no other reason why Mae Tuck would not be justified. I also disagree with juror 24 because who said anything about the Tucks being hit. There is no need to bring up that subject. If the stranger did not phisacclly threaten Winnie then Mae Tuck would not have assaulted the stranger. I also disagree with juror 22 because Winnie Foster was with Mr.Tuck the whole time the assault crime had happened. So there is no way that the stranger would have said anything to Winnie.

ReplyDeleteThe stranger did all this because after he own the water, he can sell them to the people then he will be rich, I think he did this all because of the money.
No becasue the stranger physically threatened winnie but he never physically threatened Mae Tuck so Mae Tuck has no rights to hit the stranger if the stranger didn't physically threatened Mae Tuck. I disagree with Juror 8 because Mr.Tuck did see the stranger drag Winnie. He can't lie he swore to the book.
ReplyDeleteno because the lawyers still don't have any proof that the stranger drag Winnie form the kitchen to the backyard
ReplyDeleteNo, because the stranger did blackmail the Tucks, but Mae Tuck shouldn't have assaulted the stranger. I'm not saying that she did it on purpose, but it's just not right to assault someone, espically the stranger, even though he did something really bad.
ReplyDeleteNo, because the stranger just hurt Winnie, not the Tuck's. Even though the stranger did blackmail them, it doesn't mean that he hurt them.
